Basketball Nova Scotia (BNS) Age Guidelines for Competitive Teams for 2019
The term “current season” shall be defined as the normal period of operation for the basketball season extending from September 1st to August 31st.

U10 Jr. Mini Basketball
To be eligible to play U10 Jr. Mini Basketball, a player must not have reached the age of 10 prior to January 1st of the current basketball season (i.e., January 1st, 2020).

U12 Mini Basketball
To be eligible to play U12 Mini Basketball, a player must not have reached the age of 12 prior to January 1st of the current basketball season (i.e., January 1st, 2020).

U14 Bantam Basketball
To be eligible to play U14 Bantam Basketball, a player must not have reached the age of 14 prior to January 1st of the current season (i.e., January 1st, 2020).

U16 Midget Basketball
To be eligible to play U16 Midget Basketball, a player must not have reached the age of 16 prior to January 1st of the current season (i.e., January 1st, 2020).

U18 Juvenile Basketball
To be eligible to play U18 Juvenile Basketball, a player must not have reached the age of 18 prior to October 1st of the current season (i.e., October 1st, 2020).

Note: The cut-off date for the age classes follows the dates for school registrations which was originally set at October 1st.  This has changed to January 1st and the cut-off will roll forward with the school registration dates.  The eligibility date for the age classes will change from October 1st to January 1st of the current season in the years indicated below:
·         Under 14 - 2017/2018 season
·         Under 16 - 2019/2020 season
·         Under 18 - 2021/2022 season
